SEP

Date: Oct 7-11

Please sign up for a time that you could meet with us for SEP's. If there is a better time not listed please email us privately and we can set something up.We plan on all SEP's to last 15 minutes. If you need to meet for longer please email us to set up a meeting another day.

Parents are welcome to sit in the gym during the parade.

Language Arts

Spelling

This month we will be starting Unit Two of Spelling. Please study these words with your students at home in preparation for the test every Friday.

Sept. 30-Oct. 4 Unit 2 Week 2

Oct. 7-11 Unit 2 Week 3

Oct. 14-October 16 No Spelling! Enjoy your break!

Oct. 21-25 Unit 2 Week 4

Oct. 28-Nov. 1 Unit 3 Week 1

Reading

Students should continue reading 20 minutes everyday.

Math

This month we will be working on multiplication and division facts and rules. We ask that you review multiplication facts with your students by using the multiplication charts provided. Students need to master these facts by the end of the year.

In addition to this, please be checking Aspire and making sure your student is not missing any math homework. Students are given time in class, but if it is not complete it is sent home for homework. If you cannot find the missing assignment they are available to print under the math tab on the website. Missing work on aspire will look like this U1L1, this means Unit One Lesson One.

On Oct 3, we will have our weather unit test. This year, science will be mainly taught in Chinese, but all science tests, including end-of-year test, will be in English. Thus, as indicated in Chinese homework, kids are expected to spend at least 5 minutes per day to do the science review in English on our blog. It’s great if your kid has started to do this. If not, please encourage them to start.
